Abstract

This work sought to analyse the negative implications of paranormal belief on African development. The negative impact of this belief system destroys the personal, social relations and organization in our communities, and as well impedes scientific and technological advancement. This work made use of analytic and critical method. It postulates that majority of Africans and particularly Nigerians have a strong belief for paranormal phenomena. Thus, the over reliance on supernatural phenomena militate against hard work which is crucial for human survival in the society
