A Case Study on Sweater Garments: Health and Safety Heat, Noise, Dust, and Chemical Awareness Training and Its Efficiency to the Workers

Keywords: Occupational Health and Safety; Safety Training; Sweater Garments; Heat Stress; Dust Exposure; Noise Exposure; Chemical Safety; Training Effectiveness.

Abstract: This study evaluates occupational health and safety training among sweater garment workers in Bangladesh, focusing on dust, heat, noise, and chemical hazards. The study examines training coverage, frequency, and workers’ perceptions of training effectiveness. The findings reveal that training coverage varies across different hazard areas, with heat-related training showing the greatest gap. Training frequency was also positively associated with perceived training efficiency among dust-exposed workers. The study highlights the importance of regular, practical, and hazard-specific safety training to improve workers’ awareness, preparedness, and protection from occupational hazards.
