As-Sheikh Abdul Azeez Abdul Salam Iso-Elu and His Role in Teaching Arabic and Islamic studies in Oyo Town

Abstract: Arabic and Islamic giant scholars and authors’ biographies in Nigeria are numerous among the writers and researchers, especially those who work to propagate Islamic message and spread it by the means of Arabic teachings. One of them is the great cleric, Sheikh Abdul Azeez Abdul Salaam (Iso-Elu),Oyo, who this article purportedly express his educational and his preaching movements throughout the Oyo town. One of this article objectives is to inform the entire world of his tremendous contributions in enlightening the minds of Muslims’ children and raising up Islamic and Arabic banner in Oyo town. In conclusion, this article proves that this scholar has made extremely efforts which can not be forgotten by Oyo people and it’s environs; as he used most of his time in developing their childrens’ educational personalities, religious activities and so on, so that they would be known in the society as scholars, doctors and so on. The article includes the following points: Brief history of Oyo town, Nigeria, The introduction of Islam in the town Biography of Sheikh Abdul Azeez Abdul Salãm Iso-Elu, Oyo His educational travelogue His teaching and preaching movements, conclusion.
