Abstract: This scholarly article provides SAP Data Migration methodologies, tools, and best practices in enterprise digital transformation contexts. The article explores the strategic significance of data migration in S/4HANA implementations, mergers, and legacy system decommissioning, highlighting how structured approaches yield superior business outcomes. It details the five-phase migration lifecycle—from assessment and planning through cutover—and evaluates key migration technologies including the S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, SAP Data Services, and SAP Information Steward. The article identifies persistent challenges in data quality, structural alignment, and testing inadequacies while proposing evidence-based mitigation strategies, including early assessment, governance frameworks, iterative testing, and stakeholder engagement. The article concludes by examining structured implementation methodologies, documentation protocols, business continuity safeguards, and emerging technological trends that are reshaping the SAP migration landscape.
