Optimizing Utility Asset Lifecycle and Maintenance: An Integrated Approach Using SAP WAM and Collaborative Asset Management Tools
Keywords: Digital transformation, Asset lifecycle management, Predictive maintenance, Collaborative ecosystems, Workforce enablement.
Abstract: Digital transformation within utility sectors enables optimal asset lifecycle management through integrated Work and Asset Management solutions paired with collaborative tools. Energy companies gain substantial advantages when moving beyond breakdown repairs toward forward-looking maintenance planning, resulting in extended machinery service intervals and lowered running expenses. Bringing scattered data into unified platforms, attaching sensors to field equipment, and building connections between suppliers, manufacturers, and technical specialists produces concrete operational improvements while bolstering reliability standards and meeting increasingly stringent regulatory demands. The comprehensive framework established herein encompasses both technical system requirements and necessary organizational structures. Such digital enhancement transforms traditional asset management practices from basic expense tracking into strategic business drivers supporting both operational performance and sustainable long-term objectives within increasingly complex utility environments characterized by aging infrastructure and evolving workforce dynamics.
