Artificial Intelligence Integration in Enterprise Project Management: Transforming Traditional Frameworks Through Automated Decision-Making and Strategic Communication

Keywords: Artificial intelligence, project management, enterprise productivity, automated decision-making, digital transformation.

Abstract: The incorporation of artificial intelligence technologies into enterprise project management represents a paradigm shift from traditional paradigms to intelligent, automated, and strategic project management systems that will enhance organizational productivity and improve decisions. Organizations are increasingly adopting AI-powered project management tools/platforms, including Microsoft Copilot, Atlassian Intelligence, and new versions of project management systems, including JIRA, Clarity, and Planview, to improve project governance and stakeholder communication. While organizations have moved toward automating project status reports, risk identification, and dashboard management, traditional paradigms of project management change of social landscape are fundamentally changing how project managers plan strategically and manage portfolios of projects (s). AI implementation is enabling project managers to provide sophisticated hierarchy planning, using predictive capacity planning and demand management analytics, to automate communications that facilitate ongoing and consistently levelled stakeholder engagement. The evolution of project management work illustrates how artificial intelligence is acting as a building block as opposed to a replacement feature for project managers, offering improved analysis while removing automated, repetitive administrative work for project managers. AI-based project management development requires organizations to support, enforce, and adopt the evolving fields of competence that embrace professional development and ethics in the implementation and application of AI, a completely new competence framework for project managers who work towards digitally transformed project management in organizations. Combining human art and intelligence with the capabilities of AI in project management creates unique opportunities to improve strategic project governance and organizational productivity.
