End-to-End Automation in Microservices Architecture: Challenges and Best Practices in Healthcare Platforms
Keywords: Microservices testing, Healthcare automation, Contract testing, Service virtualization, Resilient test design.
Abstract: End-to-end automation testing implementation within large-scale healthcare platforms built on a microservices architecture presents unique challenges in regulated environments. This article explores strategic solutions enabling reliable testing across asynchronous workflows and distributed service dependencies. The article reveals how architectural factors create significant testing complexities in healthcare contexts. Technical implementation choices documented include Playwright for UI automation, integrated testing pipelines, and service virtualization applications. Contract testing, dynamic test data generation, and resilient test design emerge as complementary methods addressing microservices testing challenges. The outcomes showcase substantial improvements in quality metrics and operational efficiency. Healthcare organizations navigating complex microservices ecosystems will find practical insights for effective test automation implementation while maintaining compliance requirements and supporting continuous delivery objectives.
