Next-Gen IT Operations with Agentic AI: Building Scalable Systems for a Better World
Keywords: Agentic AI, Autonomous Systems, IT Operations Management, Digital Infrastructure, Critical Infrastructure.
Abstract: The emergence of Agentic AI represents a transformative paradigm shift in IT Operations Management and IT Service Management, introducing autonomous systems capable of self-healing, self-optimization, and intelligent decision-making without human intervention. Traditional IT operations management faces critical limitations in addressing exponential system complexity growth and data volume expansion, relying on manual processes and static rule-based configurations that cannot adequately handle dynamic infrastructure changes or predict emerging failure patterns. Agentic AI addresses these operational deficiencies through autonomous enterprise integration capabilities that enable predictive maintenance, automated remediation, and intelligent resource optimization across distributed computing environments. The technical architecture encompasses distributed autonomous system principles with unified software frameworks that support coordinated decision-making processes through sophisticated monitoring, prediction, resolution, and orchestration components. Operational impact demonstrates significant improvements in system reliability, resource optimization, and cost-effectiveness while necessitating comprehensive workforce transformation and skill evolution initiatives. The societal implications extend beyond organizational efficiency to encompass critical infrastructure applications in healthcare, emergency response, and education systems, creating enhanced community resilience through reliable digital infrastructure while raising important considerations regarding digital equity, accessibility, and ethical governance frameworks for responsible AI deployment in public-serving environments.
