Building Resilient Healthcare Payment Gateways in the Cloud
Keywords: Healthcare payment systems, Cloud-based architecture, Regulatory compliance, Fraud detection, Financial data integrity.
Abstract: This article examines the critical infrastructure of cloud-based payment gateways in healthcare insurance systems, focusing on the technical architecture and operational challenges of processing high-volume claims transactions. It explores database design principles, compliance requirements, performance optimization techniques, and financial data integrity measures that support the efficient processing of healthcare claims. The integration of dimensional modeling for analytics, coupled with robust error detection and fraud prevention mechanisms, demonstrates how technological innovation drives both operational efficiency and regulatory compliance in healthcare financial systems. Key architectural components, including Oracle-based PL/SQL environments, electronic funds transfer implementations, and Python-based ETL frameworks, illustrate the sophisticated engineering required to maintain transaction integrity while processing hundreds of thousands of daily transactions. The article highlights how cloud migration has transformed healthcare payment systems through enhanced scalability, improved performance, and integrated compliance controls that protect sensitive health information throughout the payment lifecycle.
