Optimizing Enterprise Switch Deployment in Intelligent Building Ecosystems: Security, Scalability, and Management Considerations
Keywords: Smart building infrastructure, enterprise switches, network segmentation, power over Ethernet, centralized network management.
Abstract: The progressive integration of operational and information technologies within smart buildings necessitates sophisticated enterprise switch infrastructure to manage the expanding ecosystem of connected devices. This article presents a comprehensive framework for enterprise switch deployment in intelligent building environments, addressing critical aspects including scalability requirements, network segmentation strategies, Power over Ethernet optimization, redundancy protocols, and security implementations. The framework emphasizes modular design principles that accommodate future technological advancements while maintaining operational integrity. In order to create best practices for network specialists entrusted with creating and managing smart building infrastructure, the study examines segmentation strategies, PoE power budgeting procedures, and centralized management systems. The proposed strategic approaches balance immediate operational requirements with long-term adaptability considerations, ultimately contributing to more resilient, secure, and manageable building automation networks that can effectively support the expanding demands of intelligent environments.
