Abstract: This study, conducted over a one-year period from 2023 to 2024, involved the collection of demographic information and data from different hospitals in Iraq, encompassing 140 patients admitted during this time. The evaluation of patient outcomes was conducted through the administration of several questionnaires, including a two-point Likert scale (1) for correct answers, (0) for incorrect answers, and the following categories of knowledge:- Good knowledge if percent ≥ 75%- Average knowledge if percent= 60% < 75%- Poor knowledge if percent < 60% Additionally, the SCORAD classification, score depression, and anxiety were also analyzed. The distribution of subjects according to gender comprised 70 males and 70 females. The statistical analysis program indicated an average age of 20.2 (4.1) years for the study participants. The study revealed that the severity of eczema was found to be significantly higher in female patients compared to males. The true value and arithmetic mean for 70 patients with eczema was 30.9 (5.22), and for 30 patients, it was 70.34 (4.9). The Assessment Quality of Life Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) scale was also applied to Iraqi patients, and the results were found to be 28 patients for the group male, 26 females with scores from 2-5, 25 patients for the group male,30 females with scores from 6-10,17 patients for group male, 14 females with scores from 11-20. In the present study, depression was reported. In the present study, depression was reported by more than 50% of participants, which may be due to the fact that most of the participants had severe eczema, a condition that is often associated with depression. A direct relationship was found between the decline in quality of life and the prevalence of eczema among Iraqi patients, especially among females.
