Abstract: This article examines the expression of the cabbage tree and kohlrabi tree reflecting the meronymy between Vietnamese and Laos. The underlying theory of the article is the concept of the meaning of words in the system, meronymy. The research methods used by the article are the field linguistic method, the descriptive method, and the comparative-contrastive method. The survey paper has 116 Vietnamese words and 112 Lao words, reflecting the meronymy between cabbage and kohlrabi. The article establishes lexical gaps in words that express cabbage and kohlrabi parts in Vietnamese and Laos. At the same time, the linguistic picture of the word expressing the part of the cabbage tree and kohlrabi tree in Vietnamese and Lao is sketched. As a result, the similarities and differences in category thinking of Vietnamese and Lao people have been clarified
