Abstract: Based on cognitive linguistics viewpoint, the human thinking and cognition are reflected by metaphors. Conceptual metaphor is a systematic mapping from a source domain to a target domain, which create a cognitive fram. Structural metaphor is one of the four typical types of conceptual metaphors. Structural metaphor creates one conceptual structure from another, use words from one conceptual area to talk about another. “The Conceptual Structural Metaphor a Human Being is a Plant” is a typical structural metaphor in Vietnamese proverbs and folk songs.
