Abstract
This study explores the convergence between economic empowerment, financial security and the well-being of women in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. Using the qualitative and quantitative research approaches, a sample of 660 women and their caregivers is drawn from Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State. The multi-stage sampling technique is used to reach the respondents. Questionnaire and in-depth interviews are instruments for data collection. Data is analyzed using descriptive statistics such as percentages and frequency tables, while Chi-square (X2) is used to test the significance of relationship in the two hypotheses stated. Findings reveal that access to economic empowerment has resulted in financial independence and improved well-being for women in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. The study recommends that the vulnerable and marginalized members of the society should be considered first in all empowerment programmes
