Smart Manufacturing with Digital Twins: Scalable Integration Using Edge AI and Cloud ERP
Keywords: Digital twins, Edge AI optimization, Semantic synchronization, Self-healing workflows, Smart manufacturing.
Abstract: The industry is currently experiencing massive changes due to the combination of Industry 4.0 technologies, cloud-based enterprise resource planning systems, and digital twin implementation. The article introduces a new framework showing the concept of utilizing a manufacturing environment by using real-time data enabled by highly collaborative digital twins based on edge artificial intelligence and Oracle Cloud ERP. The architecture ensures the smooth integration of the systems of operational technology and information technology, opening new possibilities for manufacturers. This framework would enable industrial companies who are in the process of becoming smart factories to have a scalable system by tackling traditional issues of implementing digital twins, such as the volume of data they have to deal with, standardisation of processes across multiple facilities, and the complexities of the integration. The article discusses some of the most significant technical advancements, including edge AI optimization, semantic synchronization, and self-healing workflows, and it evaluates implementation outcomes of these solutions in both automotive and high-tech manufacturing customers. The article illustrates why this coordinated way of handling asset maintenance, quality management, inventory management, and production planning positively affects how enterprises operate in their manufacturing processes and makes them highly intelligent and dynamic to meet unfavorable circumstances well in time.
