Abstract: This scholarly article explores the transformative journey of database administration, focusing on the convergence of automation, DevOps practices, and cloud technologies within Oracle and SQL Server environments. The article explores the evolution from manual processes to sophisticated automation frameworks that address the growing disparity between expanding database landscapes and limited administrative resources. Through the article it shows critical components of modern database management: automation technologies including Python and PowerShell scripting alongside cloud-native platforms; DevOps integration strategies featuring CI/CD pipelines and schema version control tools; Infrastructure as Code methodologies utilizing Terraform and ARM templates; and monitoring automation systems that enable predictive maintenance and streamlined incident response. Drawing from extensive research and industry implementation data, the article demonstrates how these integrated approaches deliver substantial benefits in operational efficiency, resource utilization, error reduction, and strategic value alignment, establishing automation as an essential foundation for database operational excellence in contemporary enterprise settings.
